Meet the Artist

Hi there! My name is Kim Brown and I’m the designer, baker, and owner of Kimmycakes. I live in Stamford, Connecticut with my husband, two sons, and two dogs.

I’m originally from Northern California, where equipped with my turquoise Easy-Bake oven, I started my lifelong love of all things sweet. Using my unsuspecting sister as my guinea pig, I’d happily create what I deemed as “delicious desserts” in my own backyard.

Fast forward through various chapters, USC, advertising, being an art teacher, and owning a surf and skate shop – I was fortunate to finally locate a place where I could meld my love of sweets with creativity and design – the fabulous Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts in Toronto, Canada. Graduating from Bonnie Gordon gave me an excellent education and skill set that has enabled me to launch my baking company.

So with great pleasure, I’ve opened Kimmycakes, a boutique “cakery”, if you will. It is a by appointment, specialty cake and sweets studio. So welcome, make an appointment, and come see what I’ve been baking.
